Frequently Asked Questions

What is Paintless Dent Removal?

PDR is a relatively new process of removing minor dents, dings and hail damage from a vehicle without the use of bondo or the need of repainting. The process requires a highly skilled technician to gain access behind the dented area with special PDR tools. The dent is then meticulously “massaged” back to its original pre-dent condition without disturbing the original paint of the vehicle. The process may look simple but the task itself can be very difficult.

Is Paintless Dent Removal covered by insurance?

Yes. PDR is the most preferred method of repairing hail damage vehicles and minor dents by major insurance companies around the world. PDR saves insurance companies from high body shop charges and car rentals charges. Most of our dent repairs cost less than insurance company deductibles.

What are the advantages of PDR?

  • You keep your vehicles original paint and clear coat for appearance and higher resale value.
  • No body filler (bondo) is used in PDR repairs.
  • No painting required therefore no worries of paint fading over time and no risk of paint mismatch.
  • Most repairs can be done for less than your insurance deductible and NO DEDUCTIBLE means NO DEMERITS.

How much does it cost?

Many factors go into determining cost such as depth, sharpness, location, total number and difficulty in gaining access to the dent(s). Typical costs range between $95-$135, with larger dents or multiple dents (5 to 10) ranging between $135-$199. Note: Hail pricing is based on a physical in-house inspection at one of Miracles two facilities. Email photos for free quote.

Will my dent be 100% gone?

While most small dents can be 100% repaired, not all dents can be. Still, Miracle Dent customers are repeatedly amazed that the dents are not visible after the repairs are complete.

Are the dents repaired using a suction cup?

No. The repairs are done by slowly manipulating the metal behind the dented area with special PDR tools until the dent disappears. Its a craft that requires skills and patience.

Will the dents come back?

Absolutely not. Once a dent is repaired, it will never comes back, unless you are hit on the same area again. Traditional body shop methods of dent repairs can cause a ring or paint shrinkage to develop a few months after the repair. This will not happen if a dent is properly repaired using PDR.

Can any dent be repaired?

No, The most important factors in determining if a dent can be repaired by PDR are depth and location. Dents the size of a basketball can be successfully repaired as long as they are not too deep. On the other hand, very small size dents that are too deep cannot be removed using PDR. About 5% of dents can not be repaired due to their locations, such as dents on very edge of panels with double folding metal and heavily braced areas.

Will my paint be damaged?

No, the factory paints on today’s vehicles are very durable. If performed properly by a qualified technician, the paint will not be damage in any way. PDR is the only way to repair a dent and still keep your factory paint.

What if the paint is cracked or chipped?

Some dents may have scuff marks left behind from another vehicle at the time of impact. In most cases these can be buffed or rubbed away after we are done repairing the dent. If paint is chipped, cracked or scraped, repainting or touch up is needed to prevent rust from forming. As an added service, Miracle Dent can apply manufacture approved touch up paint to cover those unsightly chips.

Can PDR help me sell my car?

Yes, dealerships across the city have been using our PDR service to keep their vehicles dent free for a quicker sale. It is wise to have your car washed, detailed and have those unsightly dents and dings professionally removed before selling to get more money, more potential buyers and a faster sale.

Can PDR help me with my lease return?

PDR is your best defense against costly repair charges upon the return of your leased vehicle. Simply make an appointment with Miracle Dent before you return your vehicle to have your vehicle inspected at no extra cost to get a quote on repairs needed.
